  1. Fabulous site and photos! I am especially interested in why you chose to shoot the Istanbul series with the Fujifilm X100T. My wife and I plan to visit Istanbul and Trabzon this spring. (Our son is teaching English on a 10-month grant in Trabzon.) Trying to choose between my Fuji X100T and DSLR (Nikon D800E without battery grip–smaller and lighter–and 24mm f.1.4 and 50mm f/1.4 vs. only 35mm f/1.4). Since I do most of my shooting with DSLR, I’m less proficient with the Fuji (although I have several months to get better if that’s what I end up picking). The smaller Fuji would be easier to pack and less obtrusive out shooting but the DSLR offers higher resolution (if I’m lucky enough to capture an image worth printing large) and much better battery life. Was safety/security shooting in Istanbul a strong factor for you in shooting with the Fuji? I’d appreciate any advice. Thank you very much and congratulations on your fine images.

  2. Thanks for your comment. I chose the Fuji for its compact size and quality. I’ve always been a single focal length fan…35mm being my favorite. There were no safety or security issues in Istanbul.. It’s a fabulous city. I’d go back in an instant. Really, any of the compact mirror-less cameras are great for travel. The Sony A6000 is a steal right now. Thanks again.
